Welcoming Tyler to Our Marketing and Admissions Department
December 27, 2022
We would like to congratulate Tyler Garrison on his new role in our Marketing and Admissions Department! You may see him out around town spreading our Culture of Care or interacting with the residents in the facility. Although he is new to this department, he is not new to long-term care or our company.
Tyler started his journey with Foundations Health Solutions in 2010 when he trained for his STNA license and began wheelchair transports for a couple of different buildings in our area. He would help with transport for medical appointments and activities outside the facility. During his busiest period in this job, Tyler was transporting residents from seven different buildings. While it was certainly not an easy time, he looks back at the memories fondly and enjoys that time spent with "his residents."

After spending so much time with the residents during transports, Tyler became interested in spending more one-on-one time with them. He then pursued a career in activities, starting as an Activity Assistant and was eventually promoted to Activity Director. As an Activity Director, he really enjoyed witnessing firsthand the way activities kept residents engaged, happy, and mentally active. It was during this time that he was able to focus on his communication skills with the residents. These skills came in handy when Tyler started doing resident interviews for our MDS Department. These interviews help monitor residents' moods and general mental status. With information from these interviews and the help of company resources, Tyler was able to help connect residents with needed services and information on appropriate coping mechanisms. It was very rewarding for Tyler to make such a large contribution to our residents' lives.
After wearing many hats within the Foundations Health Solutions Family, he stepped into a new marketing role here at Tuscany Gardens. He has been enjoying the more community-faced interactions while also making new connections with our residents. Tyler shared,
"At the end of the day, it's all about our Culture of Care and making a difference. Even though my roles have changed over the years, it's always been about the residents."
Tyler's favorite sport is swimming and was on his high school's swim team. His favorite color is green, some of his all-time favorite TV shows are Getting On and Six Feet Under, and his favorite movie is American Beauty.
We have loved getting to know Tyler over the years and appreciate everything that he does for the Pataskala community and Tuscany Gardens. Thank you, Tyler!
